About
Hi, I’m Karl. Link to heading
I am the operator of ProArmsTech.com. I’ve spent the last 15 years working for some of the industry leading companies in firearm manufacturing. My time has been spent split between Quality Engineering who was fully involved in the production process, and a Test Engineer involved in validating and helping to improve both new and existing designs. I’ve worn a lot of hats along the way and had the opportunity to build a diverse range of skill sets ranging from high tech data acquisition systems to helping improve deburr methods on the shop floor and a whole lot in between.
What you will find here is a place that I will share my continued growth in areas that interest me. I’m sure much of it will relate back to firearms as that has been a long-time passion of mine, but I can’t promise not to let other passions flow in some as well. My wife and I love traveling the world and getting the chance to experience other cultures. AI has also become a professional and personal development focus lately. All of that and more may creep in to the blog posts as time goes forward.
The Mission: ProArms Tech Link to heading
ProArms Tech exists as an continuation of my professional life in firearms. Often I have seen testing done with the best of intentions, but that is wholly inadequate to truly validate a product or component. I have the great fortune of having the opportunity to be involved in a family business. That opportunity is drawing me out of my full time position in the firearm industry, but it has also opened a door for me to start ProArms Tech. It is my goal to bring knowledge and service based on my experience to both the casual user and the most seasoned professionals.
I am currently preparing to make the transition away from my current role. At the end of 2026 I will be relocating to Ohio and this this project will grow along with that change.
What You’ll Find Here Link to heading
This site serves as a digital notebook for my professional work and personal projects. I explore:
- Firearm Testing Methodology: Best practices for evaluating reliability, accuracy, durability, and anything else that need to be quantified
- Digital Automation: How I use emerging technologies to not only automate the “boring stuff,” but also building custom systems to meet specific team demands
- Real-World Evaluation: Testing protocols that matter for actual use in the field
- Personal Projects: I will share what I am working on and the lessons that come from them
